Quote Of The Week About Link Building
If It Ain't Worth Promoting, Don't Try To Promote It
Thanks to Aaron Wall of SEOBook for his thoughtful post about Creating Tools & Writing Content Based on Link Opportunities : SEO Book.com
What I loved in his post is this idea, which I think all webmasters who are seeking to get more in-bound links should take to heart:
"For most people it is easier to create something worth promoting than trying to promote something not worth promoting."
Just imagine, what a wonderful place the web would be, if online business owners stopped trying to promote the unpromotable, and focused their energies instead on creating more worthwhile content.

So true. Reminds of me of Seth Godin's purple cows! It's a shame more businesses and websites don't offer something really valuable or at the very least extraordinary.
This is really true anywhere - blogs included. Sometimes, there are ideas which have not been tested yet.
Little's Blog Things
Came across your blog in Technorati today and enjoyed reading it.
Something I've started doing right off the bat when a new client comes to me for search engine optimisation advice is to ask them what they are offering that would make people want to link to them. Doesn't just have to be quality content, it could be a free service, a free trial of something, a discount on products etc. As long as they have something to offer then you can get them links. If they can't come up with something then I'd rather not take the contract.
